Thanks

Same lake just gets overlooked with all the other options around

Doubt you will find anyone who will talk bout it. Kinda like Murvual that no one mentions

some don't like hauling their boat down the dirt road to get there, I'd like to hear if the rumor is true they sprayed the grass, that seems like a foolish decision if its true.

The grass is not dead and they improved both roads. Mostly oil top now.

Last survey done by tpwd says less than 1% grass was found after 2100 carp were released into the lake back in 1997.

There was plenty of Hydrilla at Pinkston last time I was there, and it grows DEEP in that clear water, fun lake to fish a bunch of different ways.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. I've never been to pinkston and not seen grass. After a flood it'll get super muddy and kill some but typically always has had grass. Plus 1997 those carp are way gone

I was going to school in Nacgodoches in 1985/86 when the state record was caught. The lake went from seeing 1 to 4 boats a day to more than 50 boats a day. I loved that lake and it was only 45 minutes from Stephen F. Austin. However, my true love was fish Lake Murval. Likely hung the biggest bass of my life and lost her at the boat. 30 years later, I still think about that fish.

I have not fished either lake in decades, but little is publicized about either lake, likely for a reason. The locals don't talk and they are 3 to 4 hours from Houston and or Dallas. Just far enough away to keep most folks away.
