I’m currently fishing a 7’3” M w/ fast tip TFO, 90% of my crankbait fishing is using a square bill. I really like this rod. My question is what rod(s) should I look at for fishing 5XD & 6XD baits? Rod length, action, and preferred tip for these baits would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I prefer something around a 7'6", medium power, fast action. I've been very pleased with my G. Loomis IMX Pro Crankbait rods. Well worth the price!

I've heard great things about Evergreens Combat stick. It's a glass hybrid designed to work chatterbaits, but all the guys I know using them say they make a great medium sized crank bait rod.

I’ve got a MajorCraft 7.5MH cranking rod available. It’s parabolic bend to the 5th guide from top so it has plenty of back bone for the bigger cranks. Currently at $65.00!!! Let me know thanks!

I have purchased all kinds of crank bait rods over the last several years. Dobyns , duckett , Powell, power tackle, etc. For a 6xd, the KVD cranking rods are really hard to beat in my opinion, especially for the money. They are a really great bargain. For 8 and 10 XDs the dobyns 806cb is my favorite by far though.

The Dobyns Champion 805 CB RM! By far the best deep diving crankbait rod I've ever used, period!

I like the Kistler KLX Feel & Reel in MH 7-2 for medium sized cranks and chatterbaits and the same rod but Heavy for larger sizes.
