With the slot limits possibly going away on largemouth bass this fall I bet we see more events on those lakes. Bridgeport especially since it so close to DFW.

I hope not. The last two years the quality of fish has improved tremendously on Bridgeport.

I have a few more days here. Wife has had conference calls in AM here the past couple of days so I am just hanging out waiting on her to finish up. Throw in all the rain and we have some days we have had to stay in more than normal. Still have had a blast here but ready to get back to fishing at home soon too. Gonna hate to leave here but gonna be glad to see my own house as well. cheers

I was a big opponent of removing the slot on Ray Roberts. I have not seen an adverse affect on the fishing since removing it.

There will be no effect removing it except for the guys that cant find 16 fish. They will now get to drag up 10lbs instead of blanking. Not a problem Im particularly worried about at pk or granbury! It will have zero impact on tournaments being held on either. Fort Worth guys dont like either because you have to put in the work to find them. Also accommodations are to low at pk for bigger trails to bother with. Most would still have to travel 30-45 minutes to get to the lake.

Copy That on guys not able to find 16 fish , agree with you , 14-15 plus fish will be slaughtered.

Guess now on Bridgeport the ones that say they only catch slot fish will be able to weigh in a limit...

I strongly disagree, tournament pressure has not been good for Roberts! We can still catch fish but not like we could when there was an 18" MLL or even when the slot was in place. I know there are many factors, age of a lake, grass, etc.. but pressure IMO is the worst thing for a lake, a hunting property, etc... anywhere humans interact with wild animals. When humans apply pressure the animals leave or hide and become harder to catch or hunt.

Best thing we could regulate is the number of tourneys allowed on a given body of water. Not going to be popular but I believe it would help the animals in a big way. That will never happen though, tourney guys are the ones who spend the money on the boats and equipment. BTW not a tree huger, I occasionaly fish a tournament here and there, this is just an honest observation.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

but still producing 20-29lb bags the last 3-4wks, its fishing better in the last few years then ever. Multiple 10's and new lake record this year, lots of 10's last year and another lake record

Personally, I think "more tournaments" aren't what any of our lakes need.

I agree here 100%. I'd like to see each lake be issued a certain number of tournament "entries" on an annual basis. Sell them to the highest bidder. Use the funds for restocking the lake. Adjust the number of tickets issued annually based on the health of the lake.
