Reading all the reviews on the NRX, do they live up to the hype? Where's the cheapest place to purchase NRX rods?

Cheap and NRX do not go in the same sentence. I personally like the GLX line better.

YES! The NRX is everything it is hyped up to be! Absolutely the best rod on the market, in my opinion! I own 4 of them and they are the first rods that come out of the locker when I go fishing. And NO, I am not a hired gun or on the 30% discount program as a Pro Staffer for G. Loomis or Shimano. I do own other brands of rods, but none of them compare to the NRX.

I absolutely love my NRX rods! Yes, they are definitely worth the hype. From the build quality, to the guides, to the sensitivity, it's all top notch. The sensitivity is just incredible. There's not a single thing I'd change about the NRX rods. I've fished with them for a long time now and I've yet to have a single problem with them.

Hard to locate a good deal on Loomis. Rarely go on sale and usually are not included on the holiday discount sales. Find a local shop make friends with the owner and maybe he will cut you some slack. Worked for me.

NRX and the new GLX are the best bottom contact/jig and worm rods I have used. Then MegaBass.
I have got good deals locally at Fish'n World in Dallas. Nice to support the local shop. Also have gotten great deals from Tackle Trap on Guntersville in AL. Discount plus no tax and free shipping when going that route out of state.

Still one of the best around, but imho not what they once were, a several of design choices on NRX that make 0 sense to me...
1 price point... no reason for it to be that high
2. WHY NOT ALL RECOIL GUIDES
Ill stick to my power tackle, cheaper, made here and overall a better rod imho

I have 20 plus Loomis rods IMX ,GLX , NRX. I much prefer my Power Tackle Rods and use them most often.
