I have the navionics app for my phone. The detail isn't great. I checked the site and it isn't much help at all. Does anyone know of an upgrade? If not, is there a market for used cards for the unit on the boat?

There are updates for the App that you can use on a phone, ipdad, computer etc.

As for the chip that goes in your on board graph, I believe there are only version numbers,
no updates on the earlier chips.

As for a market, yes.

Look for Navionics on Ebay but you'll be money ahead and much happier buying a new Hot Map Platinum South. They are worth every dime and you get free upgrades for a year.

The App is an annual subscription. To keep up with any map updates, you have to keep your subscription current.

You can view the current maps on the Navionics website's Web App.
No map card will have more/better contour data than what the Web App shows.

If you go to the Navionics webapp and toggle the button in the bottom left corner to turn on the Sonar Chart layer that will show you the latest and greatest mapping available from Navionics, your app is capable of showing the exact same level of detail. Be sure your subscription is up to date and that you have the correct add ons to show the Sonar Chart layer as well.

With the card for your boat, it also will show the same level of data if it has been updated, even if you have an old card there is ways of updating it as well. Let me know if this helps of if you have more questions on either.
