Is anyone out there using this rod for A rigs? I have the 805 cb rm, and while it loads up and launches an a rig pretty well, it feels a bit weak reeling it back in. I am wondering how much of a difference there is in the 806? It might just be the ticket. I have the fury 795 swim bait rod as well, but it seems a bit stiff and doesn't load up like the 805 does. Just wondering if anyone has one of these for a rigs and has anything positive to say about it? Thanks.

I have 2 806 and 1 805. They are awesome crankbait rods, but not enough backbone for the arig IMO. If your looking for an arig rod that loads well and has backbone, get an Irod Genesis Bama rig special. Best arig rod I've ever used and it's much cheaper than the Dobyns.

I guess I should also note that 95% of the time I throw smaller a-rigs, like the flash mob jr. Will the Irod load up well with smaller a-rigs?

Yep. That's the same rig I throw with 1/8oz heads. I throw the arig a lot and it is by far the best rod for light rigs I've ever used.

Shimano Crucial A-rig rod is awesome if you can find one. I can throw the 3 rig or the 5 rig no problem.

What else have you used to compare it to?

Dobyns Champion 806 cb and 795, Powell endurance 795, and an Abu veritas 7'9" swimbait rod. The Irod is the real deal. It's the only Irod I have, but it's the perfect Arig rod.

What about it did you like better than the others? I have a Dobyns Champion 795 that I began with throwing the A-rig but like the Shimano A rig rod better. I will have to check out the I Rod.

I also have this rod, and it's amazing! It loads very well, handles a lot of weight, and it's soft when fish bite.

The Irod loads better than the Champion 795 and is easier to cast IMO. And then when a fish bites, it has enough tip to give some but plenty of backbone to get them in the boat. Any XH rod works with the arig, but some just work better. Never used the Crucial, but I'd bet the Irod will give it a run for its money.

The action of the Irod sounds very close to the Crucial. The Crucial loads better than the 795 and it is a lot lighter in weight.
