Some of those knots that join one line to another are a Three-Handed Operation! I can tie it but I almost need someone to hold one end of the line while I do it!! hammer

Remember the loops around mainline go within the loop of the leader, that's what I have to keep reminding myself for the setup!

It takes a few times to get it right. I've got it pretty good now but still mess up every now and then. Way easier to do at home than on the water so that's what I try to do

I've never tried this knot.. but an Alberto is really easy to tie and I haven't had any problems with it. I know that isn't what the thread is about but might be worth a try.

I tie this all the time with light braid to light Fluorocarbon crappie fishing. I hold the loop open between my thumb and ring finger then grab the line after I pass it through the loop with my middle and index finger. Cinch one side down lightly before starting the other end. If I'm uncoordinated that day, I just hold the line after I pass it through the loop with my mouth. Cinching it down good is the most important part. I don't spit on it, don't laugh, but I use ear wax! Don't laugh until you try it. Slips right through the rod eyes.

OK. I'm 48 and been an avid fisherman since I was 5 or so. There is no telling how many hours of TV, Internet, Forums, Magazines, etc. I've spent learning more about fishing. I've NEVER heard the ear wax trick. I think I'll take a Qtip and give it a try next time. grin Good stuff.

I had to practice it for a while. Would take me forever at first, but now it's 2nd nature.

Most people try to tie it with both tag ends to short when they start looping.
