My dad has a HB 579 w/GPS chip and he is looking at getting the HB Helix 7, but apparently the chips are different sizes. What is the best way to transfer these over to new unit when purchased?

Stick the old chip in the computer and save it to a file then take it out and insert the new chip and drag that saved file info to the new chip

I'm watching the answers here. There might be a way to do it without going through the computer. Is this micro SD vs regular SD? Don't they have a regular sized SD card that you can put the micro SD into?

I think they are the same concept as lowrance just get a sd card that has a micro in it. You can import and export sd cards off your graph.

Just make sure the sd card is no larger than 32GB. It will not read anything larger. The mmIcro card will come out of the adapter. Go to waypoints and select to import all, can be done real easy from the unit.
