I just had it installed at Cabela's. I have side scan no downscan no sonar GPS is working fine. I get 2D sonar when I deploy my trolling motor. Any ideas what the issue could. Hummingbirds closed for the holiday weekend so is the Cabela's shop. Still caught 5 on Ray Roberts yesterday morning.

Does the screen for SI and Sonar try to display?

If not, it will be in the advanced settings and selected to "hidden". If the Sonar is off, I believe that is an option upon startup. In the start up screen.

The 2D sonar comes back just solid white and down Imaging just black. But once I deploy my mini Kota the 2d starts working. So I'm assuming it's only reason to doubt of the trolling motor transducer and not the rear

They are trying to use the US2 transducer as a DI transducer? Maybe? It will only work with Sonar. Ya might check and make sure that the transducer is the correct one for the Helix unit being used.

can you explain the install a little more, how many transducers? is it just a trolling motor transducer. do you have a transom transducer. You are not gonna get di without 2d reading.

It has a transom Mega transducer from Humminbird and then has a trolling motor transducer installed in it. Get Side Imaging off of the transducer in the rear but no down Imaging or 2d sonar. when I put the trolling motor down I get 2D sonar so I assume that's coming from the trolling motor.

Do you have 1 unit or 2 networked together? It sounds like your unit is choosing to read off the wrong duvet for DI and 2d. My units are networked so I would change thus in the network settings in your main menu, but if you aren't networked then I am not sure where this setting is for you.

I figured it out the Y connector was incorrectly installed. The guy Cabela's informed me they weren't trained and hummingbird systems after they installed it

So here is the deal, Cabelas installed the incorrect Y-cable. If you use the old Y-cable for the Gen 1 Helix units, you don't get DI, but the other features work. Since you're getting 2D when the trolling motor is down, and the SI works, I'm guessing you have a Y-Cable and it's the wrong one.

This is the cable you need: http://www.humminbird.com/Products/MSIDB-Y/

Edit: This was actually a common issue when the Mega units first came out, it's well documented on Bass Boat Central in the Humminbird forum. Check your cable and I bet it's incorrect. Cabelas should correct the mistake.
