Gonna hit that lake for the first time in July. My only question for you all.....is it safe to open it up and run all over? Never been there before and don't want to ruin the boat.... I have lake master on the humminbird and navionics phone app. Are there boat lanes like there are on fork? Thanks for in help guys.....

This gets discussed about once a week. There is a map if you'll google running Bob Sandlin, you should find it... basically between the Bridges, there is an unmarked "Lane" down the middle. There are trees on both sides. At full, it is very forgiving, but just stay in the middle after you pass the Monticello Cove entrance. Above the Monticello Dam, you can run just about anywhere, there are some flats, humps and points to avoid, but they are fairly obvious. Below the state park to Cypress Springs is tricky, I run into one cove, and have never been past that on the lake.

Thanks guys for the heads up and the pm Dwhitt. I will study up what you guys have said, look for that map on google, and if I seem to be confused I will give you a shout. Will be staying at the state park for the week fishing, while my little girl goes to camp deer run...

Yes but I would still use caution once you get past FM 21 bridge if your not familiar with area.
