Just wanted to see if some of you guys that are better than me at guessing a fishes weight by a picture could throw your weights out on these. Some of you may know the actual weight from the tournament these guys fished in, and that is fine, I just wanted to hear some thoughts and see how close you get compared to what I thought.

First one, the guys have 2 big fish, I guessed 8lbs for the fish on the far left, and 9.5lbs for the fish in the middle. The other photos the guys only have 1 big fish, I guessed 9.5lbs to 10lbs even.

Top pic is 29-31 pounds with a couple of bookend kickers over 8 pounds.

Second pic big fish is probably 10-11 and total weight is around 24-26 pounds

Top picture, I'd say 9 and 8.5 big fish. Bag 29.
Bottom is about 8.5 also I think. Looks bigger, but then again so do his hands.... hmmm Bag 19.5.

So here is the reason I asked this question. I doubt these tournament scales are off and of course photos are always hard to judge due to type of camera, how the fish is held, etc.... But in this one particular case it seems off to me.

The first photo above is a total of 30.32lbs, with the left fish being 9.21 and the right fish being 9.28. The second photo below, the total is 16.71 with the big fish at 7.71. To me, especially since the second photo guy isn't holding that fish way out, and the fact that the first pick has 2 over 9lbs, that big fish looks bigger than 7.71.

Here are some other examples, and wanted to see if you guys still thought it was 7.71 or if it was a bit bigger?

Here are the fish side by side, 7.71 vs 9.21 vs 9.28

Here is Brent Ehrler's fish he just caught Wednesday, 9.11 and holding it way out, and the other big fish at 7.71

Different angle

Here is Clint Davis's 7.62 fish he just caught yesterday and holding it way out vs the 7.71

I could be wrong, but I think he's holding it out more than you think... I definitely wouldn't have thought it was only 7.71, but I wouldn't have thought it was over 9 either. His finger looks huge on the picture where he is two-handing the fish, I really think he is reaching out quite a ways. I'm in no way saying that is a bad thing, who doesn't do it? But I think that is part of why the pictures are so misleading, even more misleading than pictures are already. That picture of Clent Davis doesn't even look near 7.62 if you ask me, yet another reason I say pictures are terribly misleading. Or maybe I'm a terrible judge of pictures
