Question for the Fork regulars. Is anyone else struggling to find anything bigger than 3-4lbs on Fork? Don't get me wrong I have had the best fall for numbers in a long long time but I have struggled to find any solid numbers of slots. When I have caught any or the couple overs I have caught since august/September they have been covered in sores or have been super skinny. Just curious what others are seeing...... on the report front, fished Saturday and caught around 15 2-4 lb fish and probably missed that many. Caught fish in 15-20 fow and in 1-3 fow. Cr flukes and spoons deep and traps or wieghtless super flukes shallow. Deep bite was super subtle as they would just hold it. Shallow they were hammering the trap and fluke. Went shallow late in the day and wished I would have a bit sooner. Was a bit surprised to find them so shallow. Main lake was 51-52 degrees, found 56 degree water on north end and active fish.

Edited - didn't mean to start a grass or good ole days debate just was curious if anyone was currently struggling to find any size. Hopefully corrected the confusion.

A lot of pressure on Fork makes the fish tougher to catch. Many people have gone out and zeroed, beating that bank isnt a way to catch bigger fish either. Use your graph and find deep structure, always have a chance to catch a 10+

last week in our tournament Robert caught and recorded a really nice 23 7/8" and was leading until Brian brought in his card. 24" lunker, 7+, 6+, 5+ and 3+ for 30.89. Plus some smaller fish. Only five counted in this format.

Every week our members catch a bunch of nice slots. They are there but not in the numbers they were 20 years ago.

Get over it and fish what there is now in this century.

Everyone has electronics nowadays too combined with increased pressure. Offshore fish receive much more pressure than just 10 years ago

Fixed it for you.. Since there is beer readily available now, this would truly be good times.

Actually some guides petitioned TPWD about 10 years ago to have them put spots in Fork.

There answer was there are plenty of other lakes with spots. And they felt they would be detrimental to the LMB population.

Actually a few have been caught over the years. Probably put in there by our "fisherman scientists" who actually think they know more than the real scientists just because.

Get over it? I was just asking what others were seeing as I am catching huge numbers the last several months. Good to hear some are still catching them. Guess it's just where or what I am doing. Sorry I apparently touched a nerve.......

Fork just isn't nearly as fertile as she once was. So many of the dairy operations have closed over the years..hydrilla isn't anywhere near as abundant. Just remember the good times and keep plugging away as there are still some giants in the lake.
