Hey guys do any of you have any experience with the elite 7ti? What can you tell me about it? Good or what?

I can't tell you how it compares to other units image quality. I played with all the brands in the stores and liked the touch interface the best over the garmin and bird. Many people say the opposite. I had a humminbird 5" before. I like how easy it is to create custom views and change the view. I've had mine a few months but I've only had it in fresh water a few times. I get decent images on it, nothing like you see some folks post but I haven't found any cars or bridges yet either. It has a ton of features for the price the only thing it's missing is you can't link it to other units. Wish I could give you a better review, I don't have any complaints or regrets.

Great unit powerful sonar, downscan, structure scan, side imaging ,touch screen should I keep going? This little unit has it all, wish lowrance would produce an elite 9ti. The 7ti seems to be identical to the Hds7 gen 2.

The Elite 7ti is a great sonar with all the bells and whistles without the large price tag. Replaced my Elite 7's when the Ti's came out.

Be patienty SK1, a "little birdie" at the Lowrance booth at Big Bass told me to look for an 11" and 9" come out after the first of the year.

I looked very hard at the Elite 7 Ti a few months ago. I was coming from an HDS 7 Gen 2. It was going to cost me another $500 to get side imaging on the HDS (you have to buy an additional structure scan module and an additional transducer if you didn't buy the bundle up front on the Gen 2). I sold the HDS Gen 2 for $500 and bought a Simrad Go7 XSE for $700 which you might also consider. The advantage of the HDS seems to be that you can network it with your trolling motor and additional Lowrance HDS. The Simrad and the Elite 7 Ti you can't. I wasn't using that anyway. The resolution on both the Simrad and the Elite 7Ti are better than the HDS Gen 2.

Simrad is a sister company to Lowrance. The Simrad can be purchased with the same Totalscan transducer you can get with the Elite 7 Ti and Insight mapping, structure scan, SI, DI, etc. The Simrad, the best I can tell is as close as you can get to the Elite 7 as far as features and specs. But, the Simrad is entirely controlled all by touch screen (no buttons). The zooming and scrolling is more like an iPhone. You can connect an iPad to it and view and control it from anywhere on the boat (supposedly, haven't actually done it yet). It also has a few other features I won't go into detail on. I really like it, but like someone else has said, I really haven't played with it enough to see its full potential.

I've had my Elite 7ti for about 7 months and love it. FYI, there are two models of the Elite 7ti, the $699 model has everything but sidescan, the $799 model has it all and if you're going to buy a good unit pay the extra $100 and get sidescan. You will love the Elite 7ti and all the features that come with it. I also recommend getting a Navionics Platinum Hot map SD card too. You can usually find a deal for one on Ebay. I bought my Elite 7ti at BPS and recommend them too because they will set it up for right at the counter and save you valuable time on the water.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm glad to hear you all like it. I just bought one from Tackle Warehouse during their black friday sale for $639 so saved about $200 can't wait to get it rigged up and see what it can do!

Can't say enough about this unit. I researched pretty heavily before purchasing and I am sure I am missing some things but the main differences between the 7TI and the HDS series is limited NEMA capabilities (radar, etc), No Sirrius weather overlays, no sonic hub interface and a few other minor things. All of those I have zero interest in. When they come out with a bigger one I will move my 7ti to the front of the boat and replace it with the bigger unit. Out of the box these things are really great!

Has anyone had problems with the 7TI Sonar not being able to record the depth when your boat is on plane.

That is the problem with all units with outside mounted transducer's. I think it's do to interference from the water. You need a transducer mounted in the hull for that like the old flashers used.

Yeah I'll wait patiently. I almost bought a hook 9 for the console but once you get used to touch screen and side imaging its hard to go back. 2k for the HDS 9 gen 3....uh no.
