I've used two, the Diawa with chains and the bass pro fish one with chains. The bass pro lure retriever is much better than the diawa. If I have to buy another it will be the bass pro one.

The Tournament Choice one from Academy works great. It's only $4.99 and has saved me hundreds of $$. I tie it to a buoy mark and keep it hand, it's worked everytime I've needed it.

Check out the post I just entered titled lure retriever by Clark Rheem. It's a video. I made two and they work better than anything you can buy.

Cheap academy version, add welded loop small chain from Lowes. For shallower water I like the telescopic pole version

Make your own... many how to videos. 3-4 oz. sinker, 1 zip tie, and one swivel containing the lure clip.

Anything 10-15' you can't beat the telescoping retriever. It's like having another rod onboard but it will pay for its self in the first trip.

I received a Timmy Horton money pole as a gift and it has performed well. You are limited to 18ft though. Anything deeper and you should just make your own. I also use it as a push pole when I am up shallower so I don't have to use the trolling motor. I my mind I am being sneaky but the fish are probably just laughing at me.

I'm a bank guy, and I've tried the weighted slider types with little success. If you're on the bank, I think the telescoping retriever is your better bet. BPS has a couple of options. One is something like 13' and one is 18', I believe. They'll cost somewhere around $30-$50, but they're worth the money.
