The fishing on Fork has been pretty good the last couple of weeks. The lake is about 2 ft low and water temps are in the low-mid 70's. Most of my trips have produced high numbers of unders (my best day this week we caught 43), with the chance at some nice slots as well. I've been fishing both shallow and deep, and letting the conditions dictate how I fish. My morning bite has been very good in the backs of creeks fishing around coon tail and hydrilla in 1-4 ft. We have been catching these fish on Chrome and Blue back Rat-L-Traps, watermellon candy weightless flukes and shad colored swim baits such as the smash tech smash tail jr. on an 1/8 oz jig head.
Our better fish have been coming on 1/2 ounce santone rattlin jigs in black/blue or black brown amber pitched around big wood and brush around boat houses in 5-8 ft.
There are also a lot of fish out deep and we've been catching these fish carolina rigging and drop shotting a plum smash tech taper worm on a 1/4 oz weight with a 16" leader in 15-25 ft.

This time of the year is one of my favorite times to fish Lake Fork because of the lower number of boats on the lake and high numbers of fish. If you're looking to get out on the Lake I have some November and December dates available.

Also, I have 6 dates available for my upcoming Mexico trip in January & February. This year's trip was a great success and I have super high expectations for this next one. Be sure to get in touch with me to get in on some of the best bass fishing on the planet.

Here's a few pictures from this year's trip:

And here are some nice Fork fish from my last few trips.

Hope this helps those of you coming out here to fish. Thanks for stopping by and good luck on the water!

Jay

Nice report and solid catches.

I have ask..are your really using a 1/4oz weight that deep or was that a typo?

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

You read that right.
With a small worm and light line, a 1/4 ounce weight gets down pretty quickly. Also most of the time the objective is not to get the bait to the bottom as fast as possible. A lot of bites you get will come on the initial fall wink
