I have a rod built on a MHX CB 845 blank. I haven't found a better rod yet for that bait. Love it!

7' m Daiwa aird. 54 bucks on TW. Don't let the price point fool you. I have 6 of these. They are WAY underpriced. I'm not affiliated with daiwa I just like what they are doing.

7-6 Medium action rod. I use an Allstar rod that was $60 and it's great.

Thank you very much for the input.
I've been throwing it on my 7' MH rod with a fast tip, but I pull it away from the fish.
I'm going to try it on my 7' M rod with a moderate tip and see if I like it any better.

I fish with four rods most of the time.

A worm rod.
A crankbait rod.
A topwater rod.
and a Carolina rig rod.

So I'd use the topwater rod.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I hear that is the best length for midgets roflmao For the quarter ounce the 684cb is hard to beat the half ounce 705cb

Rod will not help you setting the hook too soon. You need to learn to wait until you feel the fish before you set the hook.
