What do you think about gluing lures to the eye of the hook? I tried it today and my worm lasted a long time much longer then not gluing it. I'm fishing a Texas or a Carolina rig.

I was born and raised in Commiefornia the same state that gave the world Ronald Reagan. I trust my dog more than most people. I love the Denver Broncos.

You can peg it to the eye and save the mess.

It just takes up a lot of time to get out the super glue; but it does keep it up there longer. Try the G-Lock shank hooks. The bend by the eye has more definition; therefore it holds better.

Some baits are just slicker than others and don't want to stay up there. Once they come down a couple of times then it is a battle until you put on a new one. I love throwing the GrandeBass Mutant in Mexico. They are slick and soft. We had to finally put the small O-ring on the nose of each one the night before to make it work out.

Then you have the newer screw lock hooks; but the hook up ratio goes down for us in Mexico. We are catching 100 bass a day so it doesn't take long to see that those hooks cost you some hookups.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I always use a tiny drop of glue on the hook before securing a trailer to a jig...taking care to hold the skirt material out of the way. It only takes a few seconds and the trailer will last hours. If you don't use the glue, you spend more time replacing multiple trailers during the day...not to mention the extra cost. One hint, always use a scent (such as the craw lotion that Don Harper has) to cover the glue smell.

I've also heard you can use high test mono, and just punch it through the soft plastic, into the eye.

Toothpick through the hook eye. Snip off excess. Simple and cheap. A must for senkos!

I have heard of the mono thing too, but a tooth pick works better, it's stiffer and and holds better. I;m gonna try both super glue and toothpick just to experiment on senkos
