Saturday I found a very nice rod and reel at Fayette. If you lost one and can describe the combo I would be pleased to return it.

No sir. Please don't throw guesses out here. I am not giving away free rods and reels. I am simply trying to return one to its rightful owner as I'd like done if I lost one.

Very honorable for you to do this. Best idea I have would be to post a note at the marina there and have them leave a note describing the rod and reel and their ph. # that way you don't get a lot of calls with guesses. If it's an expensive rig the owner will ask around and/or one of his friends will see the note. After a length of time and no one reports the loss, enjoy your new rod and reel. You did the right thing.

Well, there's not a marina at Fayette, but I did leave my number and such with the lady in the pay house at the Park Prairie boat ramp.

I found one there years ago. Apparently someone fishing with Water Dogs did not realize you should not put a baitcast reel on a spinning Rod. I still have the old Ambassadeur 5000 and Ugly Stick somewhere.

This is great. I found 2 combos on the bank near a dock one day. One was a st. Croix rod with a Lews tourney pro. Both combos were worth over $500. I turned them over to the local Sheriffs dept and they were claimed by a local soldier who forgot them......
