Headed to lake o the pines this weekend with the family. We have never been there and just wondering if there is anything i should know about the lake and possibly what part of the lake is best for bass fishing to get me started. Is there grass or anything like that. I believe we are staying at alley creek park. Any help is appreciated guys.

Main points by Alley Creek and back under the highway bridge is good. Gust as you go under the bridge you will find the old roadbed and bridge.

Might be above the 155 bridge.

BE careful. There are lots and lots of stumps.

Grass, yes! Not as much as last two yeArs, but it is there! You'll have some the other side of the bridge in Alley Creek.

Stumps, yes! South of the point coming out north of Alley, you are mostly clear. There are shallow rocks too. Be careful running to the north, once you hit the boat lanes, stay in them or idle!

Yes... Tons of vegetation up north of the 155 bridge. All types. As stated, be careful if you go that far north. Hazards are everywhere so it's safer to idle once you hit the bridge. There's a lot to fish down south though. Fish the rock pile as you leave Alley that's marked by the buoy. There are some great points to fish down south if you like fishing deep. If you do go north, you need to be rigged for it. Hyacinth, bushes, coon tail, etc. leave your finesse gear at the camper if you go up there.
