Took my little bro out to Bastrop in a kayak yesterday. Had never been there myself, but I've heard great things about it so I figured we'd give it a shot. Right after we put in I noticed the grass...tons of it...and my mouth started watering. I just knew we were gonna catch some bigguns. Fished for 7 hours and had one bite between the two of us, throwing T-Rigs, swimbaits, cranks, and frogs. I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

The water is super hot there right now. I would suggest going deeper. Like, fishing some humps or fishing some points. If you find some grass that is in the 6-8ft range, you can throw plastics in there.

Make sure you go back in Oct/Nov and then again in the Spring. Really a fantastic lake!
