Planning a trip to lake hawkins, never been there before and want to catch some bass, can you guys tell me where to go and what to throw?

I would go to lake Holbrook.
You might catch some Pickrel at Hawkins. Hawkins was a great little lake 15n years ago, the local have eaten it out of fish.

I've never fished it in the summer but it has been better to me than meP2too, maybe. I do agree that I'd rather go to Holbrook. I like Hawkins in the winter and early spring.

I went today and it was super tough. It sucks in the summer. As Coach stated its a great winter - spring lake. I fished 5 hrs and had 2 bites. Hope the bite is better next weekend for our club tournament.
