Whats the deal with these? Are they latest and greatest from Motorguide or are they an entry level troller?

Any info and advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Mr Boris at Boris Marine told me this one is entry level. He pointed out it has no built in break away. He said my Tour Edition is far and away better than the x3 and its composite shaft.

X5 seems better built

Thanks guys.

I never even seen an X5 so it looks like I better get some research done.

I have heard of a few gentlemen that are keeping their tour grade trolling motors for their ordered boats. Since they have to run motor guide. However, the new x5 is supposed to be 2mph faster on top end over the fortrex(weight on nose of boat). 90% of individuals would never see this gain.

I might just go with a Maxxum, I had one around 2005 and loved it.

It's considerably lighter than the old tour model that saying a lot
