New Academy in Greenville opened today. Fishing section is very impressive compared to other local Academy's. Hopefully they will keep it up. They told me the fishing manager is a local "pro" tournament fisherman.

Awesome. I have been waiting for it to open.

Any good buys or sales going one this weekend there ?

I figure so but just asking.

I will probably head that way tomorrow evening.

No major sales. Normal prices. Strike King crank baits on on sale. I didn't need anything in particular so I only spent $90.

Same parking lot as Lowes. Just to the west behind the Chinese buffet and discount tire.

My wife and I were there when they opened the doors.....hoping to get one of those $500 gift cards but we both only got $20 gift cards. But it was $40 towards fishing gear so I'm happy with that. I told her that we needed to be there to inspect the fishing department and overall, I was impressed. Well stocked with most everything and hopefully they will continue to keep it well stocked and it not be just because it was the grand opening. The selection was most definitely better than what other Academy's offer.

The one thing I wish there was more of a selection of was the fishing line. Not really much more than what we've already been able to get across the interstate at Walmart. But all in all, the fishing department gets an 8/10 rating from me. As far as the rest of the store......I couldn't tell you.
