The fishing trip takes place in two weekends, we have a nice house rented, but I've never been on the lake, and either has the other two boaters. Could anybody please let me know what areas I should focus on, and what to throw? Thanks, and please feel free to PM me.

Get a guide man. There are places on that lake that men have never seen. You will get lost. I grew up on Caddo. Be careful. Have fun. Drink at the house.

Take pen & paper right down the trails you turn down.
Thank me later...

If it's a bachelor party, I'll bet there's not a lot of fishing going on, a trip to Bossier, or Smith Lake for some pretty prettys. You WILL not get lost unless you lose your way. Mark that down and remember to have a great time! roflmao

Goto Walmart and pick you up a map of the lake. Stay in boat lanes on pad, idle your way thru the cypress trees. Fun lake!

Going thru gov ditch on pad is a must with the cypress tunnel nuts

Can anybody suggest a place to fish? We have all made an agreement there is no drinking while we fish, there are three boats and 8 guys. I don't think a guide would be worth it with that many people.

It's a bachelor party on caddo. Wood nymphs and use a stiff rod.

Go to kitchens creek, big green break or little green break. Take a GPS.

Thanks guys! I'll take any info I can get! The groom isn't much a fisherman, but wants to enjoy a beautiful lake and possibly catch a fish on a frog.

What part of the lake are you staying on?

Go to the big cypress tree islands on main lake and get into the scattered trees a little ways out from the islands, find some in 4-6 fow. Throw weightless senkos (black w blue flake) at the base of the trees and hold on. The same works good throwing it at trees and docks along the river channel. Spinner baits along side trees on windy days and black frogs in the pads. Launching from Johnson's Ranch will put you close to the fishing. I prefer backwater fishing on that lake but then again I know it without getting lost. As others have stated, a map and a GPS will keep you out of trouble as cell phone reception can be non existent in places.

Edit: Cut a nail weight in half and run it up the far end of the senko, throw it at the tree and slowly pull up some and let it fall back to the tree, they can't stand it.

Definitely buy a Caddo map. They have all of the trails marked. Very easy to get lost out there. I got turned around last weekend with GPS and a paper map.
