I'm going to Amistad the first week of May. It will be my first trip, I'd love to have some feedback on the best techniques, not looking for anyone's spots more about the most effective techniques on the lake this time of year.

Was there last weekend, launched out of rough canyon. Bay far the best area for us was up the devils river hitting each creek arm. When it was windy Texas rigged robo worm worked well, when it was calm, which is rare at this lake, wacky rig senko worked really well. We caught a lot of fish, but only a couple over 4 pounds.

Take a spook in a color that allows some light to get through. May at Amistad is topwater time

MY dad's biggest bass is 8+ (right as Florida bass were coming in) caught on a spook that was clear and blue down there. Great uncle always told him he was lucky that fish was thirsty.

We destroyed them on spook's last weekend when the wind conditions allowed us to throw them
