I getting ready to buy a new battery. The one I'm replacing is an AGM intimidator by deka. it was the original battery that came with the boat back in early 2013. I'm running 4 electronic units, 2 power poles and a Hydrowave And on a good tournament day, my live well (early hopefully). i was looking at the diehards, oddessy, optima or maybe staying with the same. Any help?

Batteries Plus sells the X2power AGM batteries (made by Northstar) which seem to test very well. They also have a 4 year free replacement warranty, none of that prorated BS. I just got one for the cranking battery in my boat, so I will report back in a few years to let you know if it is still holding up. LOL

I believe all the brands you mention have a history of good service. One thing to do is compare specs of models you are considering, not just the warranty. The more cranking amps, the better, and the more reserve minutes, the better.

Make sure you meet the battery requirements for your outboard, plus all your electronics and on board. Outboards require a lot of juice these days with all their electronics and running them on low power can damage them.
