I'll be going to the lake next weekend for the first time and staying a few days.
We're staying around the 21 bridge, just want some basic info, is the lake open, can it be run anywhere in the area, or stay in the boat roads, etc etc.
Some Basic fishing info or good areas, like where to start would be nice if you don't mind sharing too.
Thanks in advance.

The lake is open. If you are not familiar with the lake it is best to stay in the boat roads. Still catching plenty of good size fish flipping around the brush and shoreline cover.

I was on the lake last weekend. Stay in the marked lanes if you are on a plane. The lake is slightly above pool level of 172ft so there is an entire forest just under the water. Caught some fish very shallow early and then moved out on the ridges later in the day. Wind got up both days and blew just about everyone off of the main lake. Be very aware of the wind. The lake can get dangerously rough very quickly. Use common sense and you should have a great time

Fished half a day today and had a really good day on numbers and size. Mostly junk fishing. All came shallow. Better fish on moving baits. I am covering a LOT of water though. Biggest was 7-8lbs. All looked postspawn but are healthy. The bigger fish pulled extremely hard. Really fun afternoon.

Definitely stay in the boat lanes. The only place that's open IMO is in front of the dam.
