Tried them for the first time today. Easy to walk and got bites.....but.... Missed the first 4 bites I got. Not sure if it was just coincidence or the hooks but I changed over to the trusty Spro and only missed 1 out of my next 7 bites. The hooks on the Teckel don't seem to have as wide of a gap as Spro, so as of now I don't have confidence in the hooks in them. Was it just "frog fishing" or are y'all experiencing the same with this brand of frog? Just curious, thanks.

IMO spro has the best all around frog out there with best hookup ratio. Others will chime in with favs but for me it's spro.

The Teckel frog was designed by the same guy that designed the RI Swamp Donkey.

It is a good frog, had lots of experience with it the last couple years. Has it's place for sure. IMO, hook rate is right there with spro as long as they choke it before you set the hook. Hard to say about hookups from your description but if you felt their weight or pulled hooks after having them on could be a hook problem. If not it is human error or they just missed the bait.

Lake Fork Tackle makes an awesome trailer hook that loops around both hooks. Got mine from Tackle Warehouse.

What Kevlee said. They work great. I use 65 lb power pro on Spros and the 4/0 LF trailer hooks.
