Who has read this? Would you recommend it? Why?

jpurdue is the author and member here.. Good guy and great fisherman! I have a copy but haven't finished a book since 5th grade so it's taking me some time to read it.

I wrote the book. I quite like it, but then again I'm probably a little biased. In all seriousness the amazon reviews are legitimate. They are verified purchases from mostly perfect strangers. It has sold quite well and continues to do so with very little intervention on my part. I only mentioned it on this forum when it was released and haven't harassed you guys since!

In the book, I talk about some of the collective big bass wisdom from John Hope, Bill Murphy, and Doug Hannon. In the second half of the book, I examine about 40,000 freshwater catch points to see how things like weather, time of day, time of week, moon phases etc... impact fishing. I was surprised at some of the findings. I'm no Hemingway, but I've been told the writing isn't shabby.

I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have about the book. I've done so for quite a few folks from this forum via pm.

On a side note, I got the chance to spend the afternoon with John Hope yesterday. He is the author of "Trackin Trophies." John is one of my fishing heroes and a big inspiration for my book. We spent several hours pouring over maps, talking fishing strategy, and exchanging stories. Talk about an awesome guy with a wealth of knowledge!

Im about half way through and have really enjoyed it. Very precise and too the point.

I have read it and re-read it (some parts 3 times). It is very well written in my opinion. The referencing and cross-referencing from previously written works is very informative. All bass anglers would be wise to read all of the books that Josh references but you should at least read this book as Josh does a great job of picking out the topics that are important to us anglers. Josh's analysis of the 40,000 data points opened my eyes a couple of times. It completely wipes out several myths and/or old wives tales that many, many people hold to be gospel. Buy it. Read it. You won't be sorry.
