brown or gray. Don't overthink it. If a fish hits it, I'm betting that 90% of the deal is the movement of the bait. A fairly well known west coast big bait dealer/angler told me that color is for catching fishermen and action is what catches the fish. He told me I was focusing too much on having "the right colors of each bait" when the action was much more important.
