Beast I just checked out the vaults . How much did you pay for them ? They look cool , I 'm not sure about the service on them though , looks like if it fails or gets water in it , you buy a new one ?

They were only like 10 dollars more a piece than new oil bath hubs. Had a couple oil baths that kept getting water in them no matter what I did. The vault is a grease that turns to liquid once it gets hot and the hub is pressure sealed. Came with 5 year no maintenance and 5 year warranty. I got mine done at United trailer in Longview.

There are youtube videos on servicing a failed seal for oil bath hubs. It did not look difficult at all. If you can do regular grease hubs, you can do a Vault.

I tried everything. The shop told me that the oil bath hubs heat while on the road and if you back into the lake while they are hot it makes a vacuum and can suck in water. I went with the vault as I was tired of servicing the oil bath. I'd fix it and then a month later I'd see milk in the see through cover.

Go with the Vault system with the hybrid oil. you will be very impressed and not that hard to change out. Oil bath hubs require more maintenance, good luck

I would run like crazy from Vortex Oil Bath Hubs! I'm replacing all of mine with Vaults, after having my second hub/wheel come off while driving this past weekend. They've been terrible since my boat was new. I finally got one of the Vaults, and I'm going to change the rest as soon as they get here from Ranger. Honestly, I had less problems from the old grease and Bearing Buddy's system than I had with oil baths.
One of the biggest problems and design flaws I see with the Vortex oil baths is that the inner bearing/race is actually bigger (ID) than the (OD) of the outer nut. If the outer bearing fails, the wheel and hub can simply come off the spindle right past the nut, off to where ever it likes. I never felt it when they came off, but luckily, I went back and found the wheel both times. Could have been very dangerous.
As I understand, the Vaults are warranted for life, and no service for 100K miles. I'll keep a vortex in my truck as a spare, but I'm looking forward to not worrying about hubs!
