I read last years' Bassmasters Classic winner placed dozens of brush piles in the Classic's tournament lake - Lake Hartwell. This year Edwin is apparently doing the same as reported on BassFan. The comments below are from classic contenders James Watson and Edwin Evers which I thought were funny.

"I came up behind him and I wasn't in my own boat, but I have a distinctive voice and he knew who it was," Watson said. "I asked him if he had the proper permits for that and he said, 'No, I don't have any permits, but I know I can throw a Horny Toad in this stuff."

Truth be told a lot of money is won in Texas on planted brush but it is not really mentioned too much.

Didn't know that. Lots of money is won on brush piles and I have no issue with it. Putting out good piles in the right location takes a crazy amount of time and effort.

The other Anglers will have every stick of it found with side imaging. Once it's in the Lake it's everyone's brush.

I have a good friend in Oklahoma that has made a successful reputation planting piles. It has then years of hard work. The real talent after locating them is understanding why and when the fish are using them. All sounds like serious effort to me.

Most of the pros and your local poters are doing it. Technically most tournament rules don't mention brush piles, but they mention you have to follow all other rules and many jurisdictions over lakes don't allow brush piles (or cutting, or trash like wire/pvc). So good luck when you get that generalized lie detector question "have you knowingly broken any rules?".

If only you knew where to get a bunch of trees

ive always concidered it especially with it being christmas time. you could go by the tree deposit, grab a few, then weight them and throw them in the lake.

Why drop your own when in 1/4 of the time you can find other peoples.

More power to him! Sinking enough brush to really benefit takes a lot of work, if he is willing to put it in then good for him.

I get hung enough with out putting more brush in the lake,..

I do not have a problem with a tournament angler putting out brush piles but the fan in me wants to see the best angler win based on fishing skill as opposed to the hardest working & best brush pile planter. I am trying to think of another sport in which the competitors/players alter the playing field or court. Hunting comes to mind but not any of the ball & stick sports. ehhh never mind - Tom Brady.
