Ping Speed--Fastest
SONAR OPTIONS
Noise Rejection--Low
Surface Clarity--Off
Color-- White Background
Split Zoom,Split Flasher, Amp Scope,Fish ID--Off

all else off
I usually run sonar on zoomx2

DOWNSCAN

Auto Contrast-- Off
Range--Auto
Frequency--800
Ping Speed-- Fastest
DOWNSCAN OPTIONS

Hope this helps

Which transducer do you have selected? I have the HDI 7 on my trolling motor, so it's not the skimmer.

I have the 50/200hz on the console and a 83/200 he on the trolling motor. From what I've been reading I've had my sensitivity up too high and color line too low

I'm looking into buying one. Prices differ, which transducer do I want? 83/200 or 50.

83/200hz.the 50 is primarily used for saltwater or deep waters. I just got a really good deal on it

I managed a retail camera store years ago and we rented very high end cameras, lenses, and equipment. Never had a problem with theft but did have the occasional damage that was paid for by insurance purchased at time of rental. An issue with high end rental equipment on the boat would be lien interest as a boat is titled. Unless any lien on the boat title is subordinated to your ownership/interest in the equipment then that equipment could very well be considered part of the boat.
