What makes you choose when to throw one over the other. I know matted grass the punch skirt is probably the best idea. But I know people are using the skirts for docks and brush now as well. So what makes you choose which to use.

It has been my experience that a punch skirt under a tungsten bullet weight will come through heavy cover better than a jig of the same weight.

I like the punch rig over a jig in heavy cover. For me it seems like I have a better hook up. I like using a snell knot and it gives the hook an upward kick when you set it. Now I don't use it under docks because I can skip a jig better.

I pretty much use a slither rig over a jig now except around rock, then it's football jig time.

The punch skirt allows you to Texas rig the plastic for much less chance of hangups. I like to use a EcoPro tungsten skirt with a 3/0 worm hook.

I really love the punch skirt or slither rig. Better in very heavy cover and lose less fish.
I pretty much use that as my jig except maybe football like said above. And yes owner jungles are the bomb.
I like the 4/0 ones.
