Interested in this bait, but I have questions. How hard is it to set the hook through all that plastic/ what is the hook up ratio like? What rod are you fishing this bait with? Can you rig it with a trokar flipping hook or some sort of straight shank hook instead of the wide gap style it comes with? Thanks in advance

Not hard at all when fished with the right equipment. I've always thrown it on a Dobyns 795 SBML. Throw it on an 8/0 weighted swimbait hook. A flipping hook isnt big enough. It's a good bait

Comes prerigged with like a 8/0 hook. Weight is molded in head already also. Super bait in heavy cover due to being weedless rigging. Good rod is a must, but I haven't lost many on it because of the slide design. You really can't fish it wrong but was ment for vegetation fishing I think. But works well slow rolled on ledges and down rip rap.

You can use a large wide gap hook 7/0 or larger depending on the size of the mission fish you are throwing. I use an 8ft Loomis Salmon bounce back rod. I think it is rated for 2-8oz baits. The Dobyns 795 swim bait rod will work good also. I have a Daiwa Luna 253 reel paired up with the Loomis and with the Dobyns.

Go onto Youtube and search for Mickey Ellis and his baits. He shows some tips on rigging that bait to minimize missed fish.
