Me and my partner are going to fish Lake Worth for the first time this weekend. Any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also what is the best boat ramp to use if coming from the North Dallas area?

Thanks,
Rich

Hey Rich,

The ramp under the I-820 bridge is probably your best bet for launching. That's a tough lake for me, but fishing the boat docks and sea walls has produced a few fish in the past. The rain on Thursday and the following cold front could change things up a bit.

Good luck!

I have always had a hard time on this lake. Met a nice gentleman on the dock. And he told me "anything watermelon color, throw it". Now I like fishing that lake. After launching, head south and fish that cove. Always had success there. Good luck

I've caught more white bass than largemouth at that lake and I've never tried to catch white bass there.

They like to be shallow, REAL shallow year round! Worth is a great fishery, having been part of the Wed night workingmans for several years I can vouch for the quality of fish in the lake. No other DFW lake produced the number of 18-20 lb bags in 3 hour tournaments as Worth during the time I was doing it. My PB came out of worth on a square bill.
