Well I didn't go cheap to stay dry this time. I was really wondering if anyone on this forum uses them and are they worth it. I haven't ripped the tags off yet so I can still take it back if need be. I thought well I spent enough time wet and cold walking around in the Army so no need being miserable on a boat. But if there is another cheaper option that is just as effective Id like to know.

I wear Simms rain gear and have never gotten wet underneath in the five or so years I've had them.

I have the Simms suit. Just make sure they fit before you rip the tags off. I have XL bibs and XXL jacket. the Bibs fit me perfect, but the XXL jacket is a little large even pulling all the adjustment strings tighter.

As for as keeping me dry, it's definitely will keep you dry. I had the 100mph Suit and it was good too, but if you stayed in a constant rain, my shoulders would be damp and it would get HEAVY.

Bought a set of Simms Pro Dry last year and they are hands down the best rain suit on the market.
I have never been wet and they are comfortable to wear in the summer months but let me tell you, they are great for winter fishing top layer.
I put on under armor, then sweat pants and am good to 30 all day long.

A good quality gortex(expensive) rainsuit is one of the best investments I've made for fishing. Something like a Dobyns Rod is a luxury over say an Allstar rod. Both can catch fish...if you can. A good quality rainsuit is more of necessity. It will keep you dry when a cheap one will not. Not saying it is a complete necessity. I caught plenty fish while wet under my cheap rainsuits for years but in this category of "fishing equipment" quality really pays off.

For the price, it better have a lifetime warranty. Have heard great things about it though. I'll get a pair soon.
