I'm about to purchase this rod from a friend. I'm planning on using this rod for jigs and big worms. Just wanting a general review of the rod

I just bought 2 of the 7'6" extra heavy. So far so good. The tips aren't what I'd consider an extra heavy but as far as sensitivity and weight, I am happy with them.

I've got one I use for worms. I'm happy with it. I'll buy more.

I used one heavy and one extra heavy for a month and swore off all of the Ghost rods forever. The quality is very poor for a Duckett. The blank is heavy and the guides are cheaper than what H20 put on their rods. The guides don't even have ceramic inserts. . . I don't like the grips either. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for one, and even then, I think an All Star classic is still a better rod. . .and for $40.

The two I had were underpowered too. Heavy was more like MH and XH was more like heavy.

It will be fine for worms but they are right about the tip not being to strong so I dont know how it would work for a jig unless you are talking about a swim jig and I think it would be fine. I have about 30 Ducketts and about 8 are Ghost series and I have not had any problems with any of the Ducketts that I have.

I agree, I have several Duckett Rods, The micro Magics and a ghost. I think they are underpowered compared to falcon, G loomis, power tackle, etc. But I think I like them, I use the heavy action Ducketts for frog rods and they aren't broom sticks so they work well for me. If I'm in thick cover or at fork I go with the Megabass rods that are heavier for frogs. The two I had were underpowered too. Heavy was more like MH and XH was more like heavy.

They are very underpowered. A heavy will fish like a medium heavy and a medium heavy like a medium and so on. Actually not too bad of a rod for $100 overall a decent attempt for duckett. I like the Terex a lot better for an extra $50.

I guess I got lucky on mine. I have one that's a 7'0 MH and one that's a 7'3 MH Cranking.
I like both these rods. I have the Micro Magic Pro in a 7'6 Heavy that I use for jigs and spoons, and I like the Ghosts just as much. I got hung up a few days ago and literally pulled the boat to the stump I was stuck on with a 7'0 MH, so take that for what it's worth. Lots of people don't care for these rods, but I like them and have caught lots of good fish on them. No problems here.

Tip is too soft for anything over 3/8 oz. I switch mine over to a worm rod for now.

I bought the exact same rod for the exact same purpose. So far I really like it. I've used lighter, more sensitive rods but I also paid $50-$100 more for them. For the price I really like them. I don't like broomstick rods and for me the ducketts are spot on for the actions I like. If you want a bit less tip and stay in the price range check out the Veritas series by Abu.

I have 4 ghosts. 3 - 7' mediums and 1 - 7'3" MH. For the money, they are pretty good. I like my Micro Magic Pros better and those are what I use for jigs and worms. Over time, I'll move to all Micro Magic Pros.
