I am looking for a 7 foot medium heavy casting rod. I don't know what brand to go with, but I want it to throw Texas rigs and jigs soI really need a sensitive rod, and I would Iike it to be under 160$. Please give me your input, I really likes the black Johnny Morris carbon lites but the new white ones aren't as stiff and aren't as sensitive, so I want to go with another brand. Thanks.

Dobyns Savvy

For $160 you will not find a better rod. I love these rods and have been using them for a few years now with no problems. The sensitivity on the Savvy rods is second to none. Not to mention they're very light and balanced rods. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Check out the Daiwa Tatula rods. I love mine and they're right around that price range.

Rods are stout, but light weight, sensitive and balanced.

The Shimano Crucial lists for $169 and is one of the most sensitive rods you can buy for the money. Also, the TFO Tactical Series is in the same price range. TFO's are designed by the man Gary Loomis, so I think they are a safe bet too. I have both and have nothing but great things to say about them.

I noticed that right now MonsterFishingTackle has Crucial Rods on sale. You would need to check the exact models they have marked down. I have one that is about 15 years old now and it is my favorite rod. Has performed really well.
