Hate to hear that for the fishery.

Just the opposite of what happened to Amistad when they dropped it 70 feet and lost the hydrilla for a long time.

Can't say about Toledo Bend '''' But I know there has been a LOT of rain in some parts of Texas.. Numerous lakes went from mud holes to full and even running over since June.
I know Amarillo has already set a record for the most rain ever thru August and about to set a record for the most in a full year and we still have 4 1/2 months to go.

I didn't find any hydrilla. Few sparse clumps here and there. Nothing to drop a jig on. Very Disappointing. frown

cheers

Rising water is most always a good thing for a fishery.. especially when it's flooding new or regrowth on the bank..
Just the opposite from what happened at Amistad.

Same here.... Found some good coontail patches and some hydrilla here and there but nothing like those big mats that it used to have in deeper water.

It will rebound, it will start emerging in areas that were previously high and dry before all this rain. Also crank up you fish finder, more than likely some of the now submerged beds are still there and you just can't see them...........

Just a down year for the grass with all of the water fluctuations. It will be back. Good news is the fish didn't pack up and move on.
