It's all going to depend on water color and clarity, what lake you are fishing, water temp, ect... That's a broad question, but I'd have to say black/blue or a green melon. There's a u-tube video from wired 2 fish (I think) about jig colors. He narrows it down to 4. May be worth looking at

ELK RIVER JIGS. Every angler has to have confidence in what jig he fishes. Buy one or two of each and from then, it'll be up to you. http://elkriverjigs.com

Man, That stuff don't catch fish. But having it, and putting the time in does! You get out of life what you put into life.

I like the BOSS Gary Klein heavy cover jig for my flipping needs. BOSS does make a bunch of different heads, but Gary's do a great job and have a stout hook. At tackle warehouse they come in a four pack for six bucks which is nearly the price of one jig all made up. Get some BOSS skirts in a couple of colors and then you can experiment and mix and match skirts and head colors. Most will agree that black and blue or red, green pumpkin and brown crawfish patterns will cover you needs. I start the very early spring with the blacks and the water clears I transition into the greens and browns. For sizes I fish mostly with 3/8 and 1/2, but would pick 1/2 if I could only have one size. I have found that buying the BOSS jigs and skirts will save you a lot of money on jigs in the long run, but most importantly they are a really good product and catch plenty of fish. Good luck.

I like Santone, Oldham and MPack jigs. What others have said about colors and weights is all appropriate.

I've been interested in the MPack jigs. KO, how do you like them?

I like them real well, being here at Fork they have been available a couple years now. They are more expensive than your average jig but they don't seem to hang up as easy.

TNT Wadda Jig

I've really grown to like these jigs the past few months. I stick with anything green, black/blue, or craw colors.

V&M Pacemaker Flipping Jig in Sprayed Grass. The heads are painted to match the skirts also.
