I checked the Colorado above Ivie and its running a staggering 55 cubic feet per second. Where in the hell does that rain go because it doesn't end up in the river?

I would guess there a cracks in the ground that can hold massive amounts of water rises. Pretty big area that has been very dry.

Some good rain out there today and too bad that system wont continue on a nw path along the colorado. Wrong, we've had right at 14-16 inches of rain here this year, plus we had a fairly wet fall and winter. The ground has been saturated for a while we just haven't had hard down pours. Most of the rain has been slow soaking type except for yesterday we had two inches here at Ivie in about 45 minutes. I've lived here all my 38 years and don't remeber the moisture on the ground, and sure don't remeber the pastures looking as good as they do right now, all we need is a turd floating rain.

yeah the cedars and mesquite dont help... buuut lack of RAIN in the primary issue here... cronic lack of rain over a 5+ year period... worst drought sense the dust bowl... anybody remember that???
They need a TURD floater on the right area and you will see a BIG jump. It is WET and GREEN out there but they need heavy rain not just soaking

That is the issue, same with Hubbard creek. We've got a few good rains but an inch here and 2 inches a few days later won't do it. Rains like that are good for the pastures but don't have enough run off for the lakes. Was really praying this system wouldn't miss but it did. Better than the last few years though and every little bit helps.

Just looking at the radar it looks like it is going to creep just enough west to dump on Breckenridge for quite a while if the rotation stays the same.
