Heres ours my partner caught 3 on top water in a small cove in the first 15 Minutes. Thought we were rolling but not so much. It was an hour later that he caught #4 on a brushog. 7 1/2 hours later he caught #5 on a brushog in the same as place as #4. We drove all over the lake trying to get the flooded brush pattern going but just never got bit. Tried docks, the dam, hardwood. Nothing. Thanks to my partner Steve for carrying us today I never boated a fish. I wound up just being a expensive netman. We wound up 8th and were completely shocked we even got a check.

Missed it due to mechanical issues. Good job needless to say. My question is on the launching/loading at holiday. Was it a nightmare? Did anyone scratch their hull up on all the rebar and metal sticking up over there? I like twok, but Holiday, over the year has turned out to be a dump. Everytime I go there, I leave with some kind of damage. Maybe with the water up, it was better, was it?

Finally got me a partner that could put me on some fish.
Thanks to Danny Weems for letting me fish with him. His new Legend boat is really pretty nice to fish out of. Good conversation and similar fishing styles.
we caught 3 real shallow on worms by 8:30am and thought we had it down. I thought man this is going to be good. But they just seemed to quit, AND based on 118 teams getting zero fish, it really was tough fishing. At 12:30 Danny put us in a little cove that had some shade and sure enough there was a nice 4+ pounder that just could not resist my wacky rigged Senko on my Ugly Stik with a Abu Garcia Black Max.
And as Fat Cat Newton would say,,,,,,,BOOM went the dynamite.
Just enough in the live well for a 9th place finish.
Danny even got the FORD bonus deal.
we watched some "noodlers" but they were even having a hard time finding fish.
As usual,,, Chad and Jeff with their staff put on a great event.
Looking forward to Fork in July

Not all 118 zeroed. We had two for a little over 4 pounds and threw em back. Very tough out there but should have had a great spawn for the years to come.

It was tuff! We ended up 5th. Had 6 fish all day . All are bites came shallow flipping. I believe the falling water played a huge roll in the tough bite. We didn't get another bite after about 9:45. As always Champs puts on a great event.

I didn't wear sun glasses or drink an energy drink. I did drink Nestle water all day. I also had on Nike shoes, shirt and hat. My line was Suffix Elite 14#. That probably completes my story from Bass Champs. Thanks for throwing water on it, I was pretty excited for a old 63 yr old, guess I shouldn't have been.

The fact you caught bass on an ugly stick will shock most bass fishermen lol. I thought you had to have power tackle or steez to cash checks...

I thought Ugly Stiks were power tackle !
As for shades when you have to have readers for tying knots and prescriptions for seeing the bank to cast you can't get regular sunglasses. And prescription sunglasses for a guy on social security is a tough deal.

I feel your pain. I keep a pair of "fitovers" in my glovebox in case something happens to my Rx sunglasses.

Check amazon, polarized fitovers start as low as $15.

Also - FitOvers brand has a direct purchase website. I think most of theirs are $69. They work very well, Iaconelli used to use them exclusively, not sure whether he still does or if he has Rx sun glasses now.

Cocoons are another well-known brand - theirs run about $50 - might search around on the web, probably find some cheaper.
Cocoons on Amazon

I highly recommend getting a pair just for eye strain and comfort, plus you will just flat out see better.

Note: I am not affiliated with nor do I have a vested interest in Amazon, Fitovers, or Cocoons, just trying to HelpaBrothaOut

The winners said they threw back a 14 lb limit and a 17lb limit. They were really on them they said. I think they said they were throwing a Spook type bait and stayed in one area all day on a main lake point.
