I just heard they have closed the ramps at Mill Creek Park and in Twin Dykes Park on Rayburn. Has anyone else heard this or if there are moire to follow? IF so, wonder if it will affect the BFL this weekend.

I called Mark and asked him about any rumors of cancelling, he said none and that the BFL is a go.

I've fished Rayburn when it was several feet higher than it is now. No, I wasn't any good at fishing the water in the pine trees pattern, but the ramps were open and we had no trouble launching.

I think they closed Twin Dikes this morning the water went over the road just before you get to the ramp and the storm last night carried debris all across the road. Not sure about Mill Creek I also heard hanks creek ramps were closed but have not been there to confirm that. the lake is just shy of 172.00 feet or almost 8 feet above normal pool of 164.4 feet. The Storm and high water Last night broke the floating boat houses loose at Rayburn Marina ( the old twin dikes Park) the docks and all the boats were blown into the cove and eventually lodged on the shore across from the marina. from what I understand none of the boats were damaged, but the floating docks are probably a total loss.

Any news on Monteray? Figure you have to back out a ways in the water to launch.

Launched from Caney today. It is currently at the top of the ramp where it meets the parking lot but it works fine. Another foot or two and it will probably be closed.

Powell Park ramp is still open but getting dicey. I had to take the crappie pontoon out of the slip this week. No gas or electric in the slips.
Launching/Loading the boat every day now. The tailpipe on my truck is going under water when we back in. Another foot and I'll probably have to shut down trips.
Very different situation than in years past that had high water. Those times were in the spring and the fish were still shallow. It's never been this high this late in the year.
Alot of big bass are out in deeper water. Had a client catch a 10.60 last Friday...30 ft of water. If you can launch, you can catch em.

I called Tuesday and asked when they will be opening the gates on the dam. I was told it was a chess game on when they would because of the water down river. It has rose another foot since Tuesday. I was told it will run over the spillway when the level reaches 176. It is 172.33. Pool level is 164.4.

Neches river authority takes control at 173. It will be a long time until they let water out since the neches is flooded. They would rather let it go over the spillway and wash out the road rather than flood down south. Another issue is dam b. It can only let out so much water and the neches is completely flooded. If it floods again, they may not generate for a month. Record high is 175+ i believe

Monterey Ramp was fine. Also saw people launching at both Castle Boykins. and Caney is fine for now. They say the record is 175. However several old timers. Along with my father argues that. They say it has been higher in the past. Talk about weird way of fishing.
