i want to put some holes on the step of my 2010 ranger to store pliers and scissors. Does anyone know of an aftermarket template or kit to do this?

What about just cutting a small hole with a hole saw in the step or if you use a seat up front, what about attaching something to the pole to hold the pliers.

I've been wanting to do this too. Oughta get with a fabrication outfit somewhere and make your own. Package and sell a few along the way. They'd sell everywhere for a few years. I'd be your first customer lol.

I make these upon request. $25 plus shipping. Just another option.

I was loooking at the new Ranger C boats and came up with this idea. It works really well.

Here is the template I made out of card stock as a test fit over the front of the recessed tray.

Here is the tool holder I cut out of 1/8" rotomolded plastic. It is held in place with the screws that mount the trim around the recessed tray.

Here it is with my pliers and scissors in place post install.

I haven't had any problems with tool coming out while running down the lake or running rough water. More tools could be added by cutting in additional holes.

Bryan, that looks great. I'm going to try to do that too.

Where did you get the plastic from?

Haha, well, I knew someone would ask. I have a commercial playground equipment company, and the plastic came from one of the plastic border timbers that go around our equipment to hold the safety surfacing in place.

a nylon cutting board works well for making boat upgrades.
