Livingston is not really known for its bass fishing it has them but to give you a idea of how it is
I live 15 minutes from it but drive to Rayburn or Toledo Bend to fish.

Rickie Y'Barbo does guide on Livingston some. Mostly on Rayburn but a pre arranged trip wouldn't be a problem. 936 676 6408.

Livingston doesn't have the numbers or size. However you better have 20# or more to win. I remember 2009 Anger Quest being the best year for big bags and fish. I had a 4th place with 21 and change with big bass 7.44.

It's not a bad lake at all, just tough. Can't compare it to anything on this planet I don't believe. There must me some kind of bass eating monster in that lake in deep water cause if ur fishing 3ft, you're borderline too deep!

2014 Skeeter Fx21 250 SHO Dual 8ft blades......
Man, That stuff don't catch fish. But having it, and putting the time in does! You get out of life what you put into life.

08-12 were all better than average years for Livingston. I think a lot of that had to do with the 06 draw down from Hurricane Rita and repairs on the dam. It allowed for a ton of shoreline growth and made for better spawns the following years. That combined with 06 & 07 stocking by the state meant a healthy population. That being said the last couple of years fishing hasn't been as good, I don't know of any tournaments with multiple 20# sacks this year. Actually I haven't seen a 20# sack since March 14lbs & change won the last Select Bass in April and the May Anglers Quest.

I wish the state would stock more but I guess there are better places to focus their efforts. Less than 500K fingerlings in the past decade. Few lakes in comparison since 2005 Conroe 2.75 million, Rayburn 7.5 million, Toledo 4.8 million, Nacogdoches 400K+, Palestine 2.7 million, Limestone ~300K

No doubt. Livingston runs in spurts. All of this rain isn't helping matters. Honestly Stocking would help but I believe of they allowed hydrilla growth it would be more beneficial.

Livingston is silting in bad especially north but the average depth of Livingston is only 7 feet hell at 1.5 feet low 98% of the ramps on the lake are unusable basicaly it doesnt have much to work with its never going to be a great lake. The lake record is barely 13lbs and that was just broke a few years ago by a friend of mine and the old record had stood for like 27 years that should tell you something.
