So as many of you know the lake is full pool and it is awesome. So much new water to fish you can spend a whole day in one or two areas. The lake is so full now and with more rain to come it has been funny to figure them green fish out. Most of the lake is dingy to stained but not overly bad to where the fish won't bite. Everyone around the lake is saying the fish are in a funk or the bite is tough. I agree but once you find those special areas you can get bit regularly and often.

There are several ways to catch fish right now. There are still pre spawn fish, bed fish, fish guarding fry, and post spawn fish moving out to the deeper haunts. Frogs, topwaters, weightless snakes and senkos are working great first thing or all day if it stays cloudy. Fish the flooded grass and when you think you are too shallow go shallower. Once the morning bite stops move out to 6-10 foot of water and there are post spawn fish tight to the timber. Flipping a craw, shaky head, or drop shot will catch these fish. If all that doesn't work go to graphing your favorite summer time holes. There are fish moving out there daily and the sand bass are already set up on them. Bed fishing has gotten better the last few days with no wind and sun but this week will probably change that again.

Be careful running the lake guys. With the new water it has made people more brave and see people running in very dangerous areas. Hope this helps any of you guys coming to the lake in the month of May. It's gonna be a special time.

Here are a couple pics from the last couple of days.
