I'm somewhat new to bass fishing I usually have always fished for catfish. I bought a few rods for bass fishing and I'm hooked. My question is does line color matter. Me and a buddy fished at grapvine wading in the shallows and fished exact same spot he caught 8 I caught 1. No it could have been a coincidence but I have fished out there several times and never had luck he goes one time and tears em up. I had gren mono on and he had clear mono. Any help guys would be appreciated

Good luck out there

Hard to say without more info, Perry. It could've been his lure or presentation of it making the difference. IMO, line size (diameter) is more of a consideration than color, and more so for the action of the bait than a fish's ability to see it.

It is hard to say but I do know that certain lakes fluorocarbon will get bit way more than mono. I've also been in a situation where I was throwing 65lb red power pro braid and my buddy was throwing 65lb green power pro braid. We were using the same spro frog and I caught 8 to his 1 that day. The only difference was line color. It's probably just right cast right time but it was strange. He was even in the front of the boat.
