Z-Launch Launch Cord

VIDEO

Tackle Warehouse put these on special today so I was naturally pulled right in fish
Ordered one. Has anyone on here ever used one of these. I am interested to here how well or if they work. I fish alone quite often and this looks like it would make it a lot easier to launch.

Looks like a good way to tear up your boat

What do you mean? I agree if you don't have a keel guard but if you do then do you still think it would hurt the boat.

Now your blocking the ramp for the next guy while you go and park your truck.

If you choose to launch your boat that way (I personally don't) but why wouldn't you just keep your strap connected and peel off several feet of it and then lock it back into place? Why would you hook a rope to your strap? What is the advantage of doing that?

Yes, I use one all the time for my Hobie Pro-Angler...works like a charm and can't be beat for launching alone. If you launch alone...either your boat or your truck will be blocking the ramp for awhile, but this way it is very fast and easy and the only way faster is to have two people. I Back the trailer in until the Hobie goes off the trailer and then pull forward until the Hobie is on the ramp. I have a small keel guard on the front of the Hobie so no issue with the keel and the ramp. Then I go get the Hobie and tie it off and then go park the truck. This is about a 3 minute operation while actually on the ramp. I have not used it with my Ranger yet...but I see no reason why it wouldnt' work just fine with a bass boat.

On low angle ramps where im alone and know im going to get wet, ill tie a rope from boat to trailer and let it drift back then pull the truck up a little but keeping the boat within reach at trailer.

I've been wanting one since October! Bass pro has them now and I'm going to pick one up! Think it's a great idea! And the release the whole strap idea sucks bc you would have to winch the whole thing back up

I guess I'm failing to understand what difficulty with launching solo that this product solves?

I launch by myself all the time. Nothing too difficult about it.

Agree... Even if you did use one of these you could pull the boat back toward the ramp and then get in and park the boat, then come get your truck... just like we do now. I see some advantages to one, but you could always just rip off some extra winch strap to do the same thing.

Go get you some 5/8 braided dock line 25 foot long and attach a heavy duty clip/snap on each end. I have been using this trick for years. The extra length lets you pull the truck and trailer up without it coming up to the boat ramp.

I just hate flat ramps and always having to take shoes off to get knee deep in water then dry my feet off to put socks and shoes back on! I think it's a great idea!

This. I've been doing this since the 1970s, and have never had a problem. Quick, easy, and inexpensive. No need for gimmicky items, either. Dock line, 2 bowlines, and two carabiners do the trick. It's then very easy to unsnap the 'biner from your trailer, push the boat out, and pull it to the side so other people can use the ramp....kind of the ideal solution, IMHO.
