I'm about to head to lake fork for a few days and I've been hearing that the buoy system is not right? And I don't have a chart plotter or gps that can use the boat lanes of lake fork memory stick thing. Is the any other way to view the lanes?

Just follow the buoys. Stay close to em, that's what I do. Piece of mind for me

Hug the buoys and you will be fine. If your unsure idle until you learn your way around.

you will see people running them all day and your confidence will be there. I'm there about every weekend and have no problem

Went out for my first time manning the helm last weekend. I was comfortable out there, didn't have any issue running the boat lane. I was hugging the buoys though.

It's a lot better at the moment with the lake nearly at full pool, but to be safe you should stay within about 20 feet of the buoys on either side. There are definitely places where venturing out from the lanes much more than that could land you in serious trouble.

Keep an eye out for floating debris and logs, there were some after the last hard rain, and with this latest round, there are sure to be more.
